Anton Yelchin: Colin Farrell is so sexy in Fright Night - Metro
'Colin's great' he told Metro.co.uk in an exclusive interview, 'He's grown out of being a hellraiser now – he's past that. But seriously he's a very nice and funny man, extremely smart. It was a pleasure watching him in character in this movie because he's so amazing at what he does. He's awesome.'
The 22-year-old did admit to Colin's physical appeal, adding, 'Of course he's sexy, too. I mean, come on he's Colin Farrell! He's got that Irish charm.'
Yelchin also spoke highly of his other British co-star David Tennant, most famously known for his role as a certain sonic screwdriver wielding Time Lord: 'It was a blast to watch him act, seriously. David's great in Fright Night.'
The Star-Trek star had a word or two to say about the leather trousers David dons throughout the film, saying they looked 'pretty tight' and he was 'sure he got a rash from wearing them.'
Yelchin said he fancied his chances of being as good as Robert De Niro.
He said: 'I think certain actors are extraordinary. Like De Niro in his heyday – he transforms for everything. Every film he's in he's constantly changing himself and his acting style for.
'Gary Oldman does that as well, [Jack] Nickelson, [Al] Pacino,[Dustin] Hoffman. Those actors - I'll watch anything they're in no matter how bad it is. The movies that made them just aren't being made any more.'
Robert Pattinson fans who are fuming at the comparisons between Fright Night and Twilight needn't worry, as Anton doesn't think they're anything alike.
'I think Twilight and Fright Night will have potentially similar audiences, but both are still very different. One's a horror film - a real monster film and the other is a romance so... you won't be seeing Fright Night Vampires sparkling any time soon – they're just f*****g killing machines'
Fright Night is in cinemas today.
