Justin Bieber brings snake to MTV VMAs - USA Today

Justin Bieber has made his arrival at the MTV Video Music Awards, happening now in Los Angeles, and he's brought a special friend. No, not girlfriend Selena Gomez -- she's co-hosting the pre-show -- but a snake.

Gomez caught up with her sweetie on the black carpet for a quick interview. "I've got the one and only Justin Bieber here," she said before he launched into the requisite outfit rundown: "I have a snake. I have red pants and cheetah shoes," said Bieber. "My snake's name is Johnson."

No word on why he brought a snake, but Bieber said he's looking forward to watching Kanye West and Jay-Z perform. "Thank you for hanging out babe," Gomez said to the Biebs before he planted a big kiss on her cheek.
